Electronic Logging Devices, also known as e-logs or ELDs, are one of the many recent technological advancements designed to not only make a driver’s life easier but make the job safer.
You can read all about ELDs and what they mean for you by clicking here, but at the end of the day, the idea is simple. An ELD is designed to digitally track a commercial driver’s Hours of Service (HoS), effectively replacing the old-school paper logbooks that every driver is compelled to fill out every single day.
In the United States, ELDs are already mandated for almost every commercial vehicle (with a few exceptions). With Canada set to follow suit in June of 2021, nearly every commercial vehicle in North America will be outfitted with – and required by law to utilize – an ELD.
Although already proven to increase safety and HoS rules compliance, the mandated implementation of ELDs presents a bit of a problem; many commercial drivers were trained on paper logbooks, and have been using them for years, or even decades.
Although Titan GPS is proud of our ELD solutions’ easy-to-use mobile app and administrative portal, we also recognize and appreciate that sometimes old habits die hard and new technology can be tricky to get used to.
That’s where the Driver Care support line comes in. Included in every Titan GPS ELD plan is unlimited year-round 24/7 access to a team of dedicated experts waiting to help with anything from hardware issues to questions about the US or Canadian HoS rules and compliance.
The Driver Care support center is a toll-free 1-800 number available to every driver registered in the Titan GPS system, regardless of what truck they are in or which device they are connected to.
